Indiana State Parks Camping
Owned by the stand and ran by the Indiana DNR (Department Of Natural Resources) every year thousands of people flock to the state parks to enjoy all that they have to offer.
There are around 23 Indiana state parks, so I’m sure that if you do a little research you are sure to find exactly what you are looking for. Whether you are looking for fishing, hiking, biking or just relaxing at the campground, Indiana state park camping can bring you the weekend away that you desire.
Here is a list of the Indiana State Parks.
Complete List Of Indiana State Parks
Many of these parks provide all the necessary amenities for a great trip. Electric and water hookup, showers, picnic table and fire rings. Everything you can need. Some state parks even have small grocery stores that you can grab the odds and ends that you may have forgot when packing. (Although you will pay a hefty price for the convenience)
You can drive over to the park that you are looking to stay at and pick your spot or you can simply browse and reserve you spot online through many different services. Most of the parks will allow you to make your reservations more than a year in advance.
When I make my reservations for a stay I usually use the Reserve America site, it has to my knowledge the ability to book your stay at every state park and just about anywhere else that you would want to go camping.
One of great reasons I prefer Indiana state parks camping are due to the great support and work that is done by the Indiana DNR, they have spent the last 20 plus years putting in the work to enhance the already incredible beauty of our outdoor environments.
In addition to the beautiful stress free tree surrounding, the campgrounds are loaded with and endless supply of activities for you family to enjoy. Many times on holiday weekends like Memorial Day, Labor Day and the 4th of July, the parks will bring in live music, extra activities for the kids and prize giveaways.
As an Indiana Native who has spent the last 27 years of their life Indiana state park camping I can assure that you that it will bring fun to your family and memories that will last forever.
A few things before go:
Make sure you have a list of all the gear you’ll need for the weekend.
Make sure you have a few snack recipes for the kids on the campfire.
