Canoe Country Daleville Indiana-My Personal Review
Canoe Country is located in the small town of Daleville Indiana, right outside Muncie Indiana and off of Highway 32. If you want to really get to experience the west fork of the White River in Indiana then I highly suggest that you get on over to Canoe County in Daleville Indiana.
Whether or not you own your own canoe or you need to rent a canoe they have everything that you need for a great day on the river.
Broken down in trips by the hour, you can take anywhere from a 1 hour short trip up to a 7 hour 10 mile trip if you are really looking to experience everything that the west fork of White River has to offer.
All you need to do is show up at the facility in Daleville, Indiana, sign your release forms pay and you are off to the water.
(They provide the canoe, paddles and your life preservers.)
They will drive you to the launching area, unload your canoe and whenever your trip is done, they will come and pick you up, load your canoe and drop you off back off your car.
I have taken 3 trips with Canoe County in the past year; 2 last summer and 1 this summer and I will say that they offer a great service.
My Trips.
Canoe Country Trip One:
Last year my brother, sister and our significant others headed out on a 4 hour trip on a Sunday afternoon. We hopped in the canoe at Morrows Meadow in Yorktown, Indiana and floated down the river for a little over 4 hours to Anderson Indiana. It was a little over 7 miles and was a great trip. (Total cost: $34)
And yes, about an hour into the trip me and my girlfriend flipped our canoe and got a little drenched….
Trip Two:
We had so much fun on our first trip that we were hooked and wanted to take the kids on a short trip. We opted to take them on a 2 hour trip, it was a little bit shorter and we figured that if worst came to worst that the kids would not get bored, and if it was too sunny they would not get too much some.
The trip went great, we stopped quite a bit, let the kids wade around in the water and even found some treasure in the river. (they thought it was treasure, we found a handful of fake gold jewelry near one of the sandy areas that we stopped in. They thought it was the coolest thing in the world and had a story to share.
I will say that if I take the kids again, I am going to go on the one hour trip just due to the fact that the downtime that we were paddling and relaxing was “just boring” said the kids. (Total Cost $32)
Trip Three:
We actually went out on a Saturday this time and there were 5 canoes in the trip. I was running late because of my kids softball and tee ball schedule so we met our party about an hour down the river. After the first 2 trips we were hooked on canoeing and had already went and purchased our own, so we could really do whatever we wanted.
Even though we own our own canoe, we still used the Canoe Country service. We hauled our canoe to their facility, they loaded us up, dropped us off and picked us up. We could have just parked and drove ourselves but for $13 we could have them do all the dirty work.
The trip was great again; we met a ton of cool people throughout the hours that we were on the river. We actually turned a 4 hour trip into a 5 or so hour trip. We did a ton of stopping and really just enjoying the day. (Total Cost for us $13)
Honestly, I do not have anything negative to say about Canoe Country in Daleville Indiana. They have prompt service and a great price for a great day.
