What To Pack In a Basic Fishing Kit
If you are backpacking, hiking, biking or putting together
your bug out bag one thing I highly suggest that you are packing is a basic
fishing kit. In almost every supply list
that I have put together for this site, I have included a basic fishing kit.
It seems like it would be common sense for me to write a
quick post sharing what goes into a basic fishing kit, but some how is slipped
my mind until now.
Putting together a basic fishing kit is rather simple,
especially if you have a little bit of experience fishing to start with.
Having a bit of knowledge about the species of fish in your
area can help guide you in the right direction on the exact pieces, but this
post will give you a handful of great ideas and a good start.
- Assorted hooks- You will want to vary the size depending on fish species.
- Assorted Sinkers
- 50-100 ft of Monofilament or braided wire. (Preferably the braded.)
- Small floats.
- Small jigs (assorted colors)
- Mini Pocket Knife
- Small stringer
- Band aids (never know when you will need them)
There you have it.
Pretty easy to put together and can help you in a survival situation or
just be a quick way to load your fishing gear into a backpack for a trip.
